Eve has had a very good golfing year - winning the scratch section of Highland week and the Club Championship at Pitlochry. Eve has to fit in her golf when she can as she is also a world class Curler and is travelling to Spain later this month and to Canada in October. Good luck Eve for both your golf and curling endeavours. Photograph courtesy of Cal Carson Golf Agency

Junior Member Megan Aird was the first ever girl to reach the finals of the Strathmore Junior Championship on Sunday afternoon and I was very pleased to referee what was an excellent match played by two very talented, polite and courteous young people.

The other finalist was defending champion Allan Easton who was the eventual winner of the day. Allan also reached the final of the Gents Club Championship this year and although did not go onto win was the first junior boy to reach the final.
Yesterday Allan played some tremendous golf and finished in style with a 3 on the ladies par 5 14th. Allan was only 1 over par. Megan had reached the green in two but Allan closed out the match by chipping in. Megan played beautifully throughout the match with 2 excellent birdies on 3 and 10 and her play off the tee was superb. Both players conducted themselves in manner they should both be very proud of. There was no displays of bad temper or sulks and even after losing a ball Megan walked back to the tee quite happily. It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon in their company.

Congratulations to Megan for her achievement in reaching the final.

P & K wish all the best for the coming year to County team member Roseanne Niven who returned to her University in California this morning. She will be studying hard and competing for the Cal Bears Women's golf team. Their first tournament starts on October 9th - play well Roseanne and let us know how you are getting on.
