Perth and Kinross member Jacqueline Sneddon is leading the field with a fantastic 1 over par 73. Jacqueline was said to be caught unaware of her position when she stated "I'm leading?". Jacqueline knew she was leading when she left but more than half to field was still to return their scores.

The leading scores are as follows:

Par 72. Yardage:6431
Jacqueline Sneddon Grand Canyon 36-37 73 +1

Gwen Lambie also returned a 78 but Alex took the title by virtue of the last 6 holes. A very exciting and close run competition for all!!

A huge thank you must go to Gleneagles who kindly grant Courtesy to the county to host this event. The course was stunning as always.

What a beautiful day and a superb golf course we enjoyed today at Torwoodlee. Apart from the golf the other most important aspect of the day is of course the catering and wow we were in for treat!!! With the most fantastic home baking it truly was fantastic.

The golf wasn't too shabby either with Janet Griffiths and Dawn Butchart top P&K scorers with net 75 only one shot of the winners. Unfortunately they were pipped for a prize with three 74's and two 74.5's this placed our players in 6th position just outside the prize-winners. Dawn and Janet also finished 3rd Scratch.

The full results were as follows:

1st: Susanne Ireland & Diane Moncreiff (Midlothian) (11) 74 bih

2nd: Rachael McLean & Mary Miller (Aberdeenshire) (16) 74 bih

3rd: Jackie Brown & Lynne Fenton(Angus) (3) 74

4th: Sarah Tryon & Louise Ballantyne (Dunbartonshire & Argyll) (10.5) 74.5 better last 6 holes,

5th Joie Robertson & Karen Burns (Stirling & Clackmannan) (8.5) 74.5.

Next year the finals will be held at Baberton Golf Club, don't know about you but I have started practising already!

Tomorrow Torwoodlee Golf Club will stage the Commonwealth Spoons and four couples from P&K will be making their way to take part.

The first qualifiers Carol Lambie and Lenore Kyle play at 10:48, they are followed at 11.12 by Ann McGregor and Joan Miller, Dawn Butchart and Janet Griffiths are next at 12.24 followed by last but not least Moira Middleton and Frances Anderson at 12.32. Gillian Wallace and Esther Martin who qualified in 2nd position are unable to attend as Esther's son is getting married on Friday so we send our very best wishes to Esther for a lovely day. Also Ann Spense and Meriel Walker had to withdraw as Ann has broken a finger. We hope this heals very quickly Ann. Therefore after two pull outs Ann and Joan and Dawn and Janet are replacements.

We wish all the couples the very best of luck and I will let you know how we all fair!!

I am so very proud of all the girls who took part this weekend at Inchmarlo at the Scottish County Finals. All eight girls contributed to a fantastic weekend. Unfortunately we did not lift the trophy but we did ourselves and our county proud.

We got off to a bad start on Friday when we lost our match against Renfrewshire 7-2 but we came out ready for action on Saturday and won the match against borders 8-1. But after a gallant effort on Sunday against Fife we went lost a very close match 5-4. All girls were great but our top scorer this weekend was Annabel Niven who gained 4.5 points out of the 5 games she played.

For the full results please click on the links below.

A huge thank you must also got to eight very loyal caddies and supporters who stayed all weekend. They were Janet Griffiths, Sal Shepherd, Carol Lambie, Pat Colquhoun, Emma Napper, Gwen Lambie, Jane Yellowlees, Meg Marshall and Pam Drysdale. Thank you all you were fantastic. Also thank you to all the Aberdeen ladies who came along and offered their support.

I would also like to thank Lenore and Shona for their support, help and friendship throughout, not only the weekend but the whole year. I don't know how I would manage without them.

But most of all to the Team who are an absolute pleasure to Captain. I don't think I have ever met a better bunch of girls. Their commitment and support of each other and P&K is fantastic. Well done all of you.
I will post more photos later.......best do some work first!!

We leave tomorrow for our practice round and the matches commence on Friday at 9.30am where we will play Renfrewshire. Three morning matches are played as foursomes this is then followed by six singles matches commencing at 1.30pm. This format is then repeated on both following days. On Saturday we play Borders Tee times are also same and the final day we play Fife. Tee times are slightly different with morning beginning 9.52am and afternoon 2.15pm. The team along with myself, Lenore, Liz and Shona are staying at the Inchmarlo Lodges and a band of very loyal caddies and supporters are, at their own expense, also staying at the lodges. This just makes the event even more special. Thanks go to Janet Griffiths who co-ordinated the caddies and supporters.
If you would like to come along and support your team you would be made most welcome. A sea of Green Jerseys would be great!
I can not speak highly enough of the girls they are a great squad to Captain and I am very proud of all their achievements this year. I know each one will be giving their all for the Team this week.

On behalf of the team I would like to thank all our members who have sent Cards and Emails with your good wishes. This really is appreciated and makes the team even more focused on the task ahead.

Good Luck Girls!

The sisters both returned scratch scores of 85 both also had exactly the same halves -45 -40. Emily won the tie breaker by virtue of better last six to take 3rd prize in the scratch section. Traveling with the team will be Dawn Butchart (Captain) Lenore Kyle (Vice Captain) Shona Leighton (Match Secretary) and Liz Miskimmin (President). We are also very pleased that a group of loyal supporters who, at their own expense, are coming along and staying at Inchmarlo to support and caddy for the girls. A very big thank you to them.

We have only lost one of our players from the orginal line up. Carly Booth is out of the country at the time of the finals as she has been selected to play in the junior Ryder Cup in America. Therefore our reserve Fiona Ramsay has been drafted into be a very welcomed member of the team. Carly, along with Emily, was top point scorer at Downfield and we will miss her not only for her golf but for her fun and great team spirit over the weekend however we all wish her well in the Ryder Cup in America.

We are all looking forward to the weekend and thank you all for your support and encouragement over the summer.
Thank you.

We held our very successful golfathon on Saturday and thankfully it was dry all day!! We started at 7.45am and had a 15 min break at 11.30 then the last two rounds were completed without a break and we finished the day at 8pm. It was a great day and we all even managed to enjoy ourselves! Taking part was myself, Alex, Annabel, Carol, Emily and Laura.

I have to say a very special thank you to David Norman and Jane Taylor at Strathmore Golf Centre who not only provided courtesy of the course but David also put up a very nice bottle of malt and sold raffle tickets all day, he also had a bucket for visitors to sponsor us and he sold a round for 4 at Strathmore in aid of our funds. David also provided snacks for the girls at the end of play. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

I should have the final tally of what was raised soon and I will post this along with pictures of the day soon!

Scotland's pair of champion girl golfers, Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar) and our own Team member Carly Booth (Comrie) won the girls' team trophy at the Belgian junior international tournament at the Royal Golf Club of Belgium.
Carly, the Scottish Under-18 champion and Curtis Cup player, and Kelsey Under 21's Champion finished joint fifth and joint second individually but their totals, added together, won the girls' team trophy with a score of 593, one shot ahead of Spain (594) with Wales (600) third and Ireland (602) fourth.

Fantastic news for the girls and Scottish Golf!
PS. Carly also won the longest drive competitions which was held prior to play!
