FANTASTIC FUNDRAISING

Congratulations to all the P&K Committee and especially Pat for the hard work and effort to raise funds for the county. Below is a message from Pat with all the figures,

Whisky Raffle’
My grateful thanks to all who sold and bought the tickets for the gallon of whisky and signed flag and poster from the Curtis Cup. We are indebted to Shona Leighton for her most generous donation of the whisky and to Alison Houston for the Flag and Poster. Sincere thanks also to Carol Lambie for taking the last two items and having them beautifully framed.

The magnificent sum of £741 was raised which far exceeded my expectations.

Again thanks to all who came to Asda in Perth on Sunday and bag packed. I think everyone enjoyed their stint and worked very hard.

Again a great result with £658.38 collected at Asda and a further £55 in donations from parents of juniors who with other commitments were unable to come making a grand total of £713.38. The juniors who turned out were a credit to the County and the adult members who came to help were terrific. Hopefully it will also have raised the profile of the County as many shoppers asked what we did exactly.

It was disappointing that many who will benefit from the coaching were not in attendance.

May I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and every good wish for 2013.

RESULTS FROM DUNBLANE

CAPTAIN’S DAY AT DUNBLANE 11OCTOBER 2012

(Report from our Captain Pat Colquoun)

How lucky we were at Dunblane with none of the promised heavy rain. In fact the sun peeped through briefly. The last few in did get few spots but everyone came in dry. We had two temporary greens and the rest had been hollow cored with sand on which had not been brushed in so putting was a lottery.

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

Jillian Milne (Craigie Hill) yesterday won the P&K LCGA Champion of Champions over the Ryder Cup venue, PGA Course at Gleneagles.

Below is a report from our Captain Pat Colquhoun:

On a lovely sunny but very windy day, 19 champions from clubs within Perth & Kinross competed for the Champion of Champions title. Played over the PGA course which was in superb condition in spite of all the rain, everyone enjoyed the experience and would sleep well last night feeling a bit weary when they completed their rounds.

We are very grateful to Gleneagles for granting courtesy to hold this competition on such a prestigious course. They have had a foretaste of what the Ryder Cup team will face in 2014.

Given the strong wind with which they had to contend, scoring was excellent and resulted in a tie for first between Jillian Milne and Eilidh Watson both with a scratch 78. Congratulations to Jillian who took the title on a better inward half.

SS72 CSS75 REDUCTION ONLY.
