CARLY WINS THE SCOTTISH GIRLS
Carly has won the Scottish Girls (Close) Amateur Championship with a 4&3 win over fellow Scottish Team mate Kelsy MacDonald.
Carly played some magnificent golf all week which ended by being crowned Champion. I lost count of the amount of birdies and eagles Carly produced this week she truly is a great talent.
I would also like to thank all the P&K Members who came along and supported the girls and her fellow County team mates who came along to give their support.
P&K had another win with junior member Emily Aird winning the consolation handicap prize, well done Emily.
I great week of golf all round.

TWO P&K PLAYERS MEET IN ROUND 2
Unfortunately the only two players who made it into the Scottish Girls (Close) Amateur Championships met in the second round. They were County Team members Carly Booth and Eve Muirhead. Carly won the match 6&5. However the score line does not do justice to the fine play by both players.
Well done
In the 2nd flight, sisters Megan and Emily Aird avoided a head to head battle when Emily was knocked out in the first round on the final hole by Ashley Ann Alston. Megan won her tie 3&2 and went onto meet Ashley in the afternoon knockout. Megan was three down with but courageously fought back to only one down on the 18th. Both halved the hole in 5 therefore Ashley went through to the next round. Well done to both Megan and Emily who played very well all week.

TWO P&K PLAYERS IN NEXT ROUND
Both Eve Muirhead and Carly Booth have progressed to the next round in the Scottish Girls this afternoon, however the news is not quite so good as the draw is rather unfortunate that both girls now play each other. Tee times have been put forward by 30 mins so Carly and Eve tee off at 2.20 this afternoon.
Megan Aird has also progressed to the next round in the 2nd flight, unfortunately younger sister Emily lost her match on the last green.

NORTH OF SCOTLAND
A busy week is at an end and the result was fantastic with P&K Team member Alexandra Bushby crowned North of Scotland Ladies Champion. A fantastic result for both Alex and P&K.
Alex played Katy McNicol in the final and what a fantastic display of golf from both girls. Alex was level par through 9 and 2 up at the turn. Then Katy landed her drive, on the 10th par 4, onto the green and completed the hole in birdie, Alex followed this birdie with another at the 11th. Not to be out down Katy replied with a birdie 4 at the long par 5 12th. Undeterred Alex went onto birdie the par 3 13th which was quickly answered by Katie with a birdie at the following par 5 14th. I think you will see that this final certainly was a match to savour. Alex eventually won the match with a 3 at the 17th . With a better-ball score of 7 under par it was a treat to watch. Well done to both girls.
The winner of the Handicap Section was Monifieth girl Jemma Chalmers who played fantastic throughout the tournament and won her final against Aberdeenshire's Dot MacKinnon 6&5. She certainly is one to watch for the future.
A huge thank you to all the staff at Strathmore for making this such a fantastic tournament. Their help was invaluable. The greenstaff were also fantastic, the greens and the course was in brilliant condition a treat for all to play.
Thank you also to my fantastic committee who were just great. Also to all the Strathmore members who really made this a magical week.
Thank you all, you know who you are!

GREAT SCORING!
Carly and Roseanne have completed their first round and have returned great scores. Carly has posted a fantastic -2 under for her round placing her in joint 8th at present, she is also leading the amateurs in the field. Carly had a total of 4 birdies and 2 bogies on her card. Well done Carly, keep that form up!
Roseanne has posted a +2 and sitting joint 65. Roseanne had a grand total of 5 birdies and 5 bogies. Unfortunately Roseanne was very disappointed to finish what was an excellent round with a double bogie 7 on the 17th.
We wish the girls well tomorrow.

Our team are all stars!! They are pictured above with the Team coaches Andrew and John from Gleneagles. Andrew and John came along to support the girls on Sunday.
I must say I am still on a high (albeit a very tired one now!) following the fantastic result the county team of Carly Booth (Comrie)Alexandra Bushby (Strathmore)Jillian Milne (Craigiehill)Carol Muir (Craigiehill)Eve Muirhead (Pitlochry)Annabel Niven (Crieff)Emily Ogilvy (Auchterarder) and Laura Walker (Muckhart) produced at the weekend. Don't think I have seen so many eagles and birdies in one tournament. All the girls played their hearts out and gave all for their county.
P&K also had the top three point scorers of the Tournament with Carly Booth and Emily Ogivly both on 5.5 points and Alex Bushby finished her tournament with 5 points out of a possible 6. The camaraderie of the team was outstanding and I am very proud of all 8 girls.
We are now very much looking forward to representing the North Division at the Scottish Finals which is held at Inchmarlo on Sept 19th - 21st.
Again a huge thank you to all the team! Also a huge thank you to all squad members who came along to caddy and support the girls and also Lenore and Shona for their fantastic support, I don't think I could have coped without them. Also a huge thank you to all P&K members who came along to support the girls all weekend and too Highland Spring who donated water and to Fiona Robertson of 'The Green Welly' who supplied bananas and an abudance of chocolate bars for the weekend.
