Jen Saxton (Dunfermline) is the 2022 NORTH OF SCOTLAND Champion. She beat Jasmine Macintosh (Murcar) by 3&2 in the final.

Congratulations also to Michelle Finnie (Inverurie) who won the Handicap Championship. She beat Fiona Clark (Fortrose & Rosemarkie) in the final.

Congratulations to County Team members Jen Saxton & Megan Ashley who have been selected to play for Scotland at the Home internationals.

Scottish Golf announced its squads for the upcoming Home Internationals, which will take place in August, today.

The Women's & Men's Home Internationals will be held at Ballyliffin Golf Club in Ireland, from 3 to 5 August, while the Girls & Boys Internationals will take place at Downfield Golf Club in Scotland, from 2 to 4 August.

2022 Home Internationals Selections

NORTH OF SCOTLAND

Good luck to all our Perth & Kinross County Members who are playing in this year's NORTH OF SCOTLAND Ladies & Girls' Championships.

The 2022 NORTH OF SCOTLAND Ladies & Girls' Championships will take place at Newmachar Golf Club from Monday 25th to Wednesday 27th July.

There is one qualifying round of stroke-play on the Monday (today) before the competitors with the top 16 gross scores progress to the scratch match-play on Tuesday and Wednesday. From the remainder of the field the players with the top 16 nett scores will qualify for the handicap match-play.

The qualifying round on Monday will count towards the Girls' Championship.

KINROSS MEETING, MON. 1 AUGUST - LAST CALL

The next Ladies' County fixture is the KINROSS Meeting (Bruce Course), on Monday 1 August.

Any County Junior Girl who chooses to enter the North of Scotland Ladies’ Championship will be automatically entered into the North of Scotland Girls’ Championship.

THE EUROPEAN LADIES' TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - DAY 2

Congratulations to the Scottish Ladies' team, who have qualified for the top 'A' Flight at the European Ladies' Team Championship.

The European Ladies' Team Championship
Helped by Hannah Darling, who topped the individual leaderboard with a -6 total, Scotland produced one of the best team performances on Day 2 of the stroke-play stage to qualify comfortably for the quarter-finals in 4th place.

Scotland will now have to defeat Sweden, who has won the championship three times in the last four years, to progress to the semi-finals.

Waiting for the winner will be either the defending champions, England, who finished as the number-one seed, or the hosts, Wales, who claimed the last Flight A spot.

Format:
The format for the next three days is match play. The Nations are separated into flights 'A', 'B' and 'C' depending on their stroke play positions.

The teams will go head-to-head, with two foursomes matches in the morning and five singles matches in the afternoon. The nation who wins three matches in the top flight 'A' will claim the European title.

THE EUROPEAN LADIES' TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Good luck to County Team member Jen Saxton & her Scottish Team mates at the The European Ladies' Team Championship in Wales this week.

The European Ladies' Team Championship
This year's championship is at Conwy Golf Club in Wales, from 5 to 9 July.

Teams from twenty European countries including Scotland, Ireland, Wales and the defending champions, England, will battle it out to see who will be crowned European champions.

Format:
Each team is made up of six players. Over Days 1 & 2, all players complete two individual stroke play rounds. The team’s five best scores out of six from each day count towards their stroke play qualifying totals.

The top eight teams from the stroke play rounds of each championship qualify for the medal-contention 'Flight A' bracket. The next eight teams will compete in Flight B, and the remaining teams in Flight C.
