HELEN HOLM CHAMPIONSHIP

Well done to P&K County Squad members Katy Alexander (Blairgowrie), Megan Ashley (Blairgowrie), and Jennifer Saxton (Dunfermline) who finished in the top 20 in the Helen Holm Scottish Womens' Open Championship at Royal Troon at the weekend.  Unfortunately Zoe Davidson (Alyth) didn't make the cut for the final day.

After 2 rounds on the Portland Course on Friday & Saturday, Katy, Megan & Jen played the final round on Royal Troon Old Course finishing 14th, T15th and T18th respectively in an international field of 59 who made the cut.  Congratulations to Megan Ashley for her eagle on the par 5 12th on the final day.

P&K SQUAD PRACTICE MATCH v FIFE

The team had a brilliant day in a wonderful sunny St. Andrews yesterday.  Fife County hosted us on the Eden Course.  It was a well contested game with a very friendly 2-2 draw.  All 8 players had a fantastic friendly match - Eilidh Beaumont, Kirsty Brodie, Laura Campbell, Zoe Davidson, Isla Moncrieff, Lucy Moran, Laura Walker and Junior member Tarah Simpson - and P&K are looking forward to hosting Fife next year.  It is great to see some friendly matches being played before the Jamboree in June.

The Texas Scramble on 9 hole Glenisla proved very close with 4 teams finishing on nett 28's.  It all came down to countback on last 6 holes with prizes being presented by our President, Lenore Kyle.

Winners:

Kathleen Duncan (Pitlochry), Arlene Bowman (King James VI), Carol Thomson (Dunning),  and Gillian Geddes (Muckhart)

Runners-up:

Christine Kinloch (Kinross), Joan Clark (Muckhart), Barbara Low (Alyth) and Irene Moncur (Dunkeld & Birnam)

There was also a 1/2hr lesson donated by Alyth Pro's which was won by Louise Kelly (Pitlochry)

Many thanks to Alyth GC for hosting us, to Andy and Vince for giving us an entertaining day, to the caterers for the lovely lunch and, most of all, to Alyth member and County Treasurer Catherine Peebles who orchestrated the whole day.

It was the first County event for 16 of the ladies who attended and we look forward to seeing you at another event some time soon !
