PERTH AND KINROSS CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS
The annual Perth and Kinross Champion of Champions was staged at Gleneagles Queens Course today. 15 lady Club Champions had to contend with extremely tough conditions over a fantastic course which was is suberb condition. The scoring was high due to the very strong winds however County Team Member Jane Yellowlees was the overall winner returning a 81, 6 over the CSS of 75 (reduction only).

This was the second time Jane, representing both Crieff and Murrayshall, has lifted the trophy and our congratulations go to her. In second place was Dunkeld Golf club champion and team member Gwen Lambie 83 followed in third place by Aberfeldy Club Champion Caroline Dunbar 84.

Special thanks go to County Captain Janet Griffiths for her organisation and also to Gleneagles for courtesy of the course and their unfailing support of the tournament.

    DUNBLANE MEETING

What a superb end to our golfing calendar. Dunblane New Golf Club was in beautiful condition, the food was fabulous and the welcome was warm. Many thanks go to the green keeping staff, the caterers and the management team for an excellent visit.

Unfortunately the majority of us did not score so well, with no players below or even matching par. Although the CSS raised from 71 to 74 it was still counting!

The best scratch score was County Champion Alexandra Bushby (Strathmore) 77 closely followed by Sal Shepherd (Blairgowrie) 78. The best handicap players on the day were Sue Jones (Milnathort) who posted a 72 along with Lenore Kyle (Kinross) however Sue pipped Lenore on the best last 6 and went on to win the Brown Memorial Trophy. Well done Sue.

    Results were as follows:

    Scratch
    Alex Bushby 77
    Sal Shepherd 78

    Handicap
    Sue Jones (Milnathort) (26) 72
    Lenore Kyle (Kinross) (12) 72
    Sal Shepherd (Blairgowrie) (5) 73
    Grace Paterson (Dunblane) (22) 74

    Well done everyone.

Congratulations to County team member Roseanne Niven who on her return to the USA, finished joint 9th with scores of 71, 77 and 73 for 221 in the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic at Fort Collins, Colorado. She had seven birdies and no double bogeys over the 54 holes . Roseanne's scores helped her California Berkeley college team to its first team tournament win in 30 months. Roseanne's team-mates Shannon Yocum and Pia Halbig from Germany, making her college debut, finished first and second on two-under-par 214 and 216 respectively. The team score of 868 saw the team 19 shots clear of second placed Washington State. Well done Roseanne and the Berkeley team!

Congratulations and well done to County Team member Eve Muirhead (Pitlochry) who won both her matches in the Schoolgirls International match against England at Westerwood Golf Club today. The Scottish girls' team started well with a 2 - 1 victory in the morning foursomes. Eve partnered Louise MacGregor and they beat Katherine O'Connor & Helen Searle 2 and 1. The Scots didn't fare quite so well in the afternoon singles - Eve was the only winner, winning her match against Becky Gibbs by 6 & 5. The final result was Scotland 3 England 6.
