The last of the winter training sessions was held in the sunshine at Gleneagles on Sunday 16th March and it was great to see 11 girls getting involved in County golf. Andrew, the Gleneagles professional provided the coaching on the range and was once again impressed by the golfing ability and enthusiasm shown by all the girls. The putting skills challenges demonstrated some results which promise to give some excellent scores on the course this year.
Thanks go to Gleneagles for the Professional coaching, use of both areas of bays, the putting green and the Wee Course and to Hannah for liaising with them for our winter dates.
A big thank you also goes to Catherine, Liz, Tony, Gemma, Isla, Eilidh and Laura for their help with the putting challenges and out on the course.
Please keep an eye on the County Facebook and Website for details of more events.
Good luck to everyone for the 2025 season!

On Sunday 16th February, a cold but dry day, eight girls attended the County training at Gleneagles where they enjoyed coaching by Andrew, the Gleneagles Professional, along with putting and chipping challenges. The girls followed up their coaching with a friendly foursomes match on the Wee Course.
Some excellent putting was completed. In the first group Olivia came out top in the Chipping, Putting ladder, and Gates and Isabella winning the Clock and Line.
In the second group Lucy R triumphed in the Ladder putting, Tarah the Clock and the Line, Jessica the Gates and Jessica, Tarah and Sophie drew in the Chipping.
In the Wee Course Foursomes all the girls played well with Tarah and Anna winning with a score of 38.
A huge thank you to the Gleneagles Professional Team, (I think we may have used all their range balls during the morning lesson), Tony M for planning the skills challenges and Tony, Laura W, Michelle, Liz and Lenore for manning the stations of the challenges.
Watch this space for details of the next training session.
The County Senior Squad had a really great session starting out on the range getting some helpful swing tips from the Pro, Andrew. A competitive 9 hole Texas Scramble in pairs was then played. A great day getting back out on the course and getting some fun competition going!

The 2024 Handicap League AGM took place recently in Perth where the presentation of the Loch Leven's Larder Trophy was made by Moira Lumby (King James VI) to this year's winners, Perth Ladies.
The final had been played on the Blairgowrie Lansdowne course between Perth Ladies and Kinross. It proved to be a very close match with the lowest handicap players from each team having to take part in a playoff after the match was tied 2.5 points each. Even then it took an extra 3 holes to determine the winning team. Congratulations to Perth Ladies and commiserations to Kinross.
Thanks to all the players who have made this year's Handicap League so enjoyable and special thanks to Blairgowrie Golf Club for hosting the final.
The secretary of the HCL for 2025 will be Helen Pirnie, Perth Ladies.
Six girls aged 7 to 18 attended the P&K County girls coaching at Gleneagles today. An hour of coaching with the PGA professional in the training bays was followed by a fun team competition on the Wee Course. Well done to all girls, parents and supporters who attended and to Gleneagles for the professional coaching and use of the Wee Course.
Watch this space for the next dates.
The 2024 Perth & Kinross Ladies' County Golf Association AGM was held yesterday at North Inch Bowling Club, Perth and was well attended by ladies and juniors.
Our County President, Lenore Kyle, chaired the meeting during which we had a minute's silence for Remembrance Day and also to remember the lady members who had sadly passed away in the last year.
There were a few changes to the Committee:
Leaving Committee:
Retiring this year was Treasurer, Kathleen Duncan (Pitlochry). After a 4 year stint, Kathleen deserves a well earned retirement.
Joining Committee:
We are delighted to welcome 3 ladies to the Committee, Emily Ogilvy (Dunbracken), Laurie Brown (Dunbracken and Isla Moncrieff (Aberfeldy).
We are doubly delighted to announce that Liz Milligan (Dunblane) has volunteered to fill the Vice Captain's role. This happened after the meeting had long finished so Liz has been co-opted onto the Committee.
Other changes:
Committee Member, Catherine Peebles (Alyth) agreed to take over the Treasurer's position.
Prize-winners:
