Results from Day 2 at Banchory and draw for tomorrow's semifinals.

Despite the early morning rain which delayed the tee offs by an hour, it turned out a very warm, dry and humid day.

CALLANDER RESULTS/NORTH INCH ENTRY

Callander was looking great and threw up a few challenges, including the very hot weather, but the views were lovely.

P&K JUNIOR GIRLS AT POLLOK

After finishing 3rd in the Scottish Girls U16 Open Championship last week, Stella Walters (Blairgowrie) tees it up again at the Scottish Girls Amateur Championship at Pollok along with Lucy Moran (Dunbracken) and Tarah Simpson (Blairgowrie).  The tournament starts with a 36 hole qualifier on Friday 17th July then it's into the scratch and handicap knockout rounds over the weekend.

JUNIOR GIRLS - FORFAR

It was a delight to see our girls at Forfar GC today.  Lucy Robertson (Crieff), Sophie Goult (Auchterarder) & Tarah Simpson (Blairgowrie) are part of the Regional Girl's Pilot along with girls from Angus and Fife.  This is a new initiative introduced by Scottish Golf's Performance Team this year to provide monthly coaching sessions. 

They were put through their paces by PGA Professional Karyn Dallas starting with a dynamic warmup, swing warmup working through their clubs,  pitching to a target from increasing distances and bunker practice....all before lunch! After lunch they were heading out to do some course management.

JUNIOR GIRLS - STRATHMORE FIXTURE

Entries are welcome for the P&KLCGA Junior Girls Summer Meeting at Strathmore GC on Sunday 9th August. 

Girls with handicaps will be able to choose to compete for either the Junior County Scratch & Handicap 18 hole Championships or the 9 hole Summer Meeting.   Any girls without handicaps are also welcome to take part in a fun 9 holes.  The first tee time on the day will be from 1pm.

All junior girls who are members of golf clubs affiliated to P&KLCGA are eligible to enter.

STRATHMORE RESULTS/CALLANDER ENTRY

Strathmore was looking great - even under the rather grey skies we had all day.  Thankfully it was quite warm with only a brief light shower of rain.

Congratulations to Kirsty Brodie (Strathmore) who won the Captain's Centenary Cup with a gross score of 76 and to Christine Kinloch (Kinross) who won the Past Captains' Centenary Tray with a 2 under par nett score of 71.

A very special mention for Fiona Johnston (Blairgowrie) who had her first-ever hole in one.  Fiona played her 9 iron at the 98yd par 3 6th,  one bounce and then it rolled in.  Thanks to Strathmore who quickly magicked up a celebratory certificate.

JAMBOREE - FINAL RESULTS

Congratulations to Northern Counties who have won the Northern Division Champions Trophy for 4th year running.

It was a very windy testing afternoon for everyone at Nairn Dunbar with the P & K team finishing off with a 4-2 win over Angus.

Northern Counties were crowned Champions after winning all 3 of their matches at Nairn Dunbar.  They beat P&K 5.5-3.5, Angus 8-1 and Aberdeenshire 6-3.

They will now represent North Division in the Scottish County Finals at Dunfermline GC from Fri 28th - Sun 30 August 2026.

Perth & Kinross finished second after 2 wins, beating Aberdeenshire 9-0, Angus 7-2 and lost to Northern Counties 3.5 - 5.5.

Aberdeenshire  finished third with 1 win, beating Angus 6-3.

Day 3 results:

Perth & Kinross won 7-2 against Angus.

In the other match, Aberdeenshire lost 6-3 to Northern Counties.

After blustery conditions this morning at Nairn Dunbar,  Perth & Kinross won 2.5 - 0.5 against Northern Counties in the foursomes.  Great result and the team will battle hard again in the singles this afternoon.

JAMBOREE THIS WEEKEND

We wish our County Team the best of luck as they head to Nairn Dunbar GC this weekend to compete against Aberdeenshire, Angus and Northern Counties in the North Division Jamboree.

The P&K Team selected:

Katie Alexander (Blairgowrie), Megan Ashley (Blairgowrie), Eilidh Beaumont (St Regulus), Kirsty Brodie (Strathmore), Laura Campbell (Pitlochry), Isla Moncrieff (Aberfeldy), Jennifer Saxton (Dunfermline) and Laura Walker (Muckhart).

The round-robin competition starts on Sat 13 Jun with foursomes in the morning and singles in the afternoon.  P&K play against Northern Counties on Sat, Aberdeenshire on Sun and Angus on Monday.

Spectators are welcome so if you happen to be in the area, feel free to come along and support the Team.

STRATHMORE FIXTURE - 22 JUNE

The next fixture in the P&K County Ladies calendar is at Strathmore on Monday 22nd June 2026.  This is a strokeplay competition for the Captain's Centenary Cup (Scratch) and the Past Captains' Centenary Tray (Handicap).

COMMONWEALTH SPOONS RESULTS

It turned out a beautiful day at Blair Atholl and all the ladies, despite the unfortunate events on the A9, made it in time to tee off.  

Thanks to the Hairy Coo's Teecup for keeping us well fed and watered -the homebaking treats were a particular favourite. 

Congratulations to the winners Linda Scott & Gladys Pennycook (Alyth) with a nett score of 74(bih).    

Together with runners-up Kay Knight & Lynne Sweeney (Pitlochry), both pairs will be invited to play in the Commonwealth Spoons Final on 7th September at Thornton Golf Club.
