SCRATCH LEAGUE RESULT

The AGM and Dinner for the P&K Scratch League took place at Dunkeld and Birnam Golf . Gwen Lambie chaired the meeting and announced that Dunkeld and Birnam were withdrawing from the league. We are all very sorry that they are no longer included in the league and will all miss our visits to their beautiful course. Muckhart however are taking their place and their inclusion was warmly welcomed.

The winners of this years Scratch League was Strathmore Golf Club who were undefeated throughout the season. Above is some of the members of the team accepting the trophy for the second year running.

A beautiful meal followed and a vote of thanks was given to Gwen for all her hard work and for keeping us all up to date with the results by emailing me on a very regular basis.

KIRSTY BRODIE WINS JUNIOR MASTERS

The five-star Gleneagles resort, hosts the Ryder Cup in 2014, was the venue for the Highland Spring Junior Masters yesterday and our own Kirsty Brodie (Strathmore) eased to a three-point success in the girls section over the delightful Queen’s Course.  Kirsty was the class act among the girls, posting an impressive 40 stableford points off her 13 handicap to secure a comfortable triumph. Jemma Brown (St Regulus) claimed second spot on 37 points with Alexandra Mennie of Eile & Earlsferry Ladies a point further behind in third.

Baring in mind Kirsty is only 11 years old, her potential has already been recognised by officials of the SLGA where she has been selected as the youngest member for the Scottish Golf Academy. A fantastic result for such a enthusiastic young golfer. She certainly is one to watch.

Kirsty and brother Michael almost made a family first as 14 year old brother was leading the boys section right up to the last group of players and was just pipped at the post to second place.
