County Champion Jen Saxton got a last minute place to play in the St. Rule at St. Andrews this weekend and she made the most of the call up by being placed equal 10th place in this prestigious event. 

Jen returned scores of  77 76 and 75 making at total of 2 over par over difficult windy conditions. An excellent result for Jen who was ably caddied by fellow team member Laura Walker. Well done Jen you did P&K proud.

COMMONWEALTH SPOONS AT BLAIR ATHOLL, the scnery was lovely and everyone enjoyed their visit.

Thirty two pairs took part in the Commonwealth Spoons round at Blair Atholl on Monday. Our thanks to the everyone at Blair Atholl and Pitlochry Golf Clubs for hosting the event. The weather was kind to us, the scenery was lovely and everyone enjoyed their visit.

A big thank you to the hospitality and catering staff who were great and also to the greenekeepers who had the course in excellent condition.

Three pairs qualify for the Commonwealth Spoons final at Bothwell Castle on Thursday 3rd September 2015.

The North of Scotland Championships take place at Fortrose & Rosmearkie GC on 6th-8th July 2015. Concern has been expressed that the entries are slow (only 15 entries to date.)  For only £20 you can play two rounds on this lovely course and meet golfers from all over the North of Scotland.

This  competition is open to members of Aberdeenshire, Angus, Northern Counties and Perth and Kinross County Golf Associations. The winner will hold the title "North of Scotland Champion" and will retain the Gifford Trophy for one year. P&K Junior Championships were held at Auchterarder Golf Club today. The girls all played very well with some impressive scores being returned in very windy conditions.   This  is reflected in the CSS which was reduced to 68.

Congratulations to Kirstie Brodie , the new P&K Junior Champion and Megan Thom the Handicap Champion.

Well done also to Olivia Griffin, 10 years old, who played the 9 hole course, hitting all the Par 3s in regulation.

No 2 seed Jen Saxton beat leading qualifier & twice former champion Laura Walker 5 and 4 in all Muckhart final at Strathmore Golf Centre today.  Laura played her best golf in reaching the final but Jen gave a very steady performance. She was two up at the turn.
Amy Thomson from Dunblane, who plays off 19, and was the leading qualifier, won the handicap title. She won by 4 and 2 in the final  against home course player Cathy McNab who has a handicap of 26. 

In the morning's semi-finals, Laura Walker, County Champion in 2008 and 2010, beat US college student Nicola Robertson (Stirling) 6 and 5. No 2 qualifier, Jen was a winner by 3 and 1 over Laura Campbell (Pitlochry). 

County Captain, Carol Muir would like to thank David at Strathmore Golf Centre for allowing us to hold our County Champs this year and accommodating all requests for changing tee times and permitting us to bring our tee time forward this afternoon to beat the weather. 
The course was in great condition and greens were very good despite the wind and rain of the last
few weeks, so our thanks to the green keepers for all their hard work.  Catering and bar staff have been terrific as usual, despite Alison and Carol not receiving chocolates with their lattes!!!

Finally thanks to Dawn Butchart for refereeing the Scratch Final and to Alison Stockley for all her
assistance this week, We couldn't do all this without you.

Congratulations to all the Ladies who came through their matches successfully on Saturdayand play in the semi finals on Sunday. The weather stayed dry for most of the time and there was some superb golf played. The Strathmore course is in superb condition and we look forward to some great golf on Sunday.
