P&K representation at European Girls Championship
15 year old Roseanne Niven (Crieff) our County Champion, has been selected to play in the European Girls Championship at Golf National, Paris July 6th to 10th. Her fellow team mates are Claire-Marie Carlton, Gemma Webster and Krystal Caithness. We all wish her well and congratulate her on her selection.
Roseanne also has good reason to celebrate this week after securing her first hole in one during a school match against Merchiston at Craigielaw Golf course. She holed the 133 yard 10th using her 7 iron. The first of many I am sure!!

Commonwealth Spoons
How many seasons can we cram into one day!! We had sun, wind, rain and hail. Can't say our meetings are ever boring!! The weather didn't seem to effect the scoring by any shape or form, especially our Ladies from Dunblane taking both the top and second placings. Our congratulations go to Dunblane pairing of Kate McAlpine and Nan Morrison with a super score of net 70. Well done to you both on what proved, to me any case, a tricky course. Congratulations also go to Pat Kelly and Margaret Stewart with a net 70.5.
Scores for the day are as follows:
K McAlpine & N. Stewart 70
P Kelly & M Stewart 70.5
S Crystal & M Robertson 71.5
M. McKay & C Monks 72
M Ritchie & S McNaughton 72.5
M Whittet & J Junor 73
S MacDougal & A Young 74
Remember and get your entries in to Pat for Auchterarder as soon as possible.

A huge thank you
Pam would like to extend her thanks to all County Members who provided prizes and bought raffle tickets at the County Qualifier. Prizes included a round for 4 at Blairgowrie, Alyth and Dunning. Also lots of goodies such as wine, balls, hats, fruit, books and not forgetting 2 bottles of Glenmorangie!! The total made was £308.00 which a huge sum and will help towards the funding of our County Team.
Many thanks again.

County Championship 2004 Roseanne Niven.
What a final!! Roseanne and Carly met on Sunday in the final and what a final it proved to be. Roseanne opened with a birdie 3 to go one up then after an excellent second shot to the green on the 2nd goes 2 up. Both girls par the par 3 3rd. Roseanne pars the 4th to go 3 up. Carly immediately replies with a good par at the 5th to bring it back to 2. Both par the 6th and Roseanne has a good par at the short 7th to bring it back to 3 up. Both girls par the 8th and Carly sinks a magnificent 15 foot putt at the 9th for a birdie 3 to bring the score back to 2 at the turn. Roseanne at this stage was level par with one birdie and one bogey. Carly also playing beautiful golf was 2 over par. With a great 2nd shot on 10 Roseanne secures a birdie to bring the score to 3. Again Carly replies with a birdie at the long par 5 and the score reverts to 2. Roseanne then has back to back birdies on 12 and 13 extending her lead to 4. Roseanne then hits to the left of the green at 14 and Carly misses to the right. Roseanne chips first and chips pin high. Carly chips past the hole and misses her putt back. Roseanne putts for the championship and calmly slots it in.
What a treat for all the spectators to watch such a wonderful display of golf. Roseanne was 3 under par thru 14 and the betterball score for both players was 6 under. The future certainly is looking bright for P&K with such excellent young players coming through. Roseanne was runner up last year and I am sure both girls will feature strongly in the Jambouree at Monifieth in June. Well done both.
