What a beautiful course Kenmore was. The views were fantastic and the drive up was lovely. Certainly a hidden gem. The horses along side the course were an added bonus, so much so my ball decided it wanted to stay there and promptly went over the fence! The course was a little tricky and this showed in the scoring, not one of us achieving par!
Here are the results:
1st C Lambie & L Kyle 75
2nd G Wallace & E Martin 77
3rd M Middleton & F Anderson 78 ½ BIH
4th A Spence & M Walker 78 ½ BIH
5th A McGregor & J Miller 78 ½
Well done to all the qualifiers.
Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets. The winners of the balls were: Anne Hood, Grace Paterson and Jill Stewart. Well done
Our thanks also go to Kenmore golf Club who certainly made us very welcome and especially Joan who provided us with tea and coffee. Also thank you goes to the conveners Liz Miskimmin and Liz Fertacz. Thank you all very much and we look forward to a return visit very soon.

After yet another fabulous day at Alyth Golf Club, the new champions have been crowned. The 2008 Perth and Kinross County Champion is Laura Walker. Laura played 2007 County Champion Alexandra Bushby in the final after a win of 1 up over Gillian Wallace in the semi-final. Alex played Emily Ogilvy in the semi final and won her place in the final 2&1. However Laura played fantastic golf in the final and after a volley of birdies and pars won the game 8&6.
Laura a former winner of the Scottish girls match-play title in 2002, was a former member of Northern Counties but moved from her home in Nairn to take a teaching post in Perthshire and subsequently joined Muckhart Golf Club and of course Perth and Kinross. She is a very welcomed member of the county and the county squad. Winning the County Championship was a fantastic start to what we hope will be a long association to P&K.
Our Handicap Champion and winner of the Gibb Trophy is Ailie Burnett. Ailie a junior along with fellow junior Erin Millar both made it through to the final of the handicap championship. Ailie won her place in the final after a win of 3&2 over Angela Crossland and Erin Millar won her place with a 4&3 victory over Janette Hamilton. After a very exciting final in which 14 year old Erin fought back from 6 down, Ailie won the excellent final 2&1.
Ailie, a 16 year old Dunkeld member, played excellent golf all weekend and along with Erin was a credit to their parents, golf clubs and county. Well done girls, I will watch your golfing successes with interest.
