P&K ARE INTERCOUNTY NORTHERN CHAMPIONS
Our fantastic team played their hearts out all weekend and won the North of Scotland Inter-County championship today at Downfield. It was a resounding win as P&K won all three days against Northern Counties 6&3, Aberdeenshire 5&4 and Angus 8&1.
All members of the team contributed to this great win. We also had the three top point earners of the tournament with Emily and Carly with 5.5 points out of 6 with Alex not far behind with 5 points.
I can not praise the girls enough, they were wonderful. I am very very proud of them all. Fantastic result, well done all. I will post a full report with some fantastic photo's tomorrow.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to all the cards, phone calls and kind wishes from all our members. Also to the members who came along to support and caddy the girls. Also a huge thank you to squad members Jane, Sal, Fiona and Gwen who came along to support the girls and caddy this weekend, Gwen and Fiona even stayed in the same hotel all weekend to help throughout the tournament. I can not thank them enough.
What a fantastic weekend!

EMILY AND CARLY BOW OUT OF BRITISH
Sad to report but unfortunately Emily and Carly have both been defeated in the 2nd round of the British. Emily played the top qualifier and after a very close game the match ended on the 17th green. Carly's match was also an extremely close and exciting game which ended on the last green.
We are very proud of our girls making it to the match play stages and congratulate them on their achievements.
Roseanne Niven is still on the course and last reported to be 1 up through 7. Good luck Roseanne.

BRITISH WOMENS OPEN RESULTS
Didn't our girls do well at the British women's open amateur golf championship at North Berwick today! Team member Carly Booth was certainly on form and returned a 2 under par 70 finishing with a eagle two on the 273 closing hole. Her final total of 146 makes Carly the top qualifier of eight Scots. Along with Carly playing in the final stages are our own Emily Ogilvy who returned scores of 79 73 for a total of 152 and Roseanne Niven who posted 78 71 for a total of 149. Great scoring by all our girls and look forward to the match play stages tomorrow. Fantastic for P&K to have three players in the top 64.
Our fourth entrant Alexandra Bushby had a nightmare round yesterday but had the courage to come back today and return an excellent score of 73 today. Unfortunately the damage had already been done on Wednesday but I can not praise her enough for the way she came back and showed her great fighting spirit. Well done Alex.
Emily is our first girl out tomorrow at 7.38 against Hannah Jenkins, Carly is up next at 8.26 against Stephanie Kirchmayr and the last of our members Roseanne is out at 10.02 against Andre Lucie.
Good luck to all. I will try to keep the website up to date but you can catch all the news on the LGU website. See the previous post for the link!

Well done to all. Remember and get your entries in for The North of Scotland!!
Our thanks go to Dunkeld and Birnam Golf Club for their very warm welcome. The course was in excellent condition and the views were exceptional. A very beautiful course indeed. Our thanks also go to Jane and her catering staff for fantastic food and service.
Some of us did a little better than others but the star of the day was Dunkeld Club Champion Gwen Lambie who not only returned the best Scratch Score of 78 but also one under CSS Net score of 71. Well done Gwen.

NORTH OF SCOTLAND
Please, please, please get your entries in for the North of Scotland!!! We only host this event every four years and this year it will be held at Strathmore Golf Club which, even if I say so myself, is in fantastic condition as over 100 ladies who played in Strathmore Ladies Open yesterday will testify!
The North of Scotland is played over 3 days from Monday 7th July through to Wednesday 9th July. All players play on Monday and then we will have 16 scratch qualifiers and 16 handicap qualifers who go forward to the match play stages which take place Tuesday and Wednesday. All non qualifiers will then play on Tuesday in a consolation round. Therefore the entry of £15 guarantee's you a minimum of two rounds of golf on a beautiful golf course which serves the most wonderful food!!
So many of you have said to me, and I quote 'we are not good enough' this is nonsense as the tournament is a handicap event as well as a scratch one and everyone will go out in as near handicap order as possible. So please please come along and support the county in this event. We can accomodate 120 ladies and so far we only have 75 entries which is very disapointing. You will certainly be made very welcome.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the left hand side of the page or CALL ME on 01828 633000/633395.
PLEASE.

WE ARE PROUD OF YOU CARLY!
Courtesy of the LGU and R&A, Perth and Kinross LCGA organised a coach for any of our junior girls who were interested in coming along to the Curtis Cup yesterday. 26 Juniors took up the invitation however, sadly due to illness and other arrangements, a few could not make it. But those who came along and braved the cold and rain were treated to some magnificent golf.
My thanks go to volunteers Alex Dot and Janet who gave up their day to help with the girls.
Of course our own Carly was there and the girls were in awe of her golf and how she conducted herself on the course. They were all very excited to watch her play in such a prestigious event. We, as a county, are extremely proud of Carly's achievements. Playing in the Curtis Cup must be the highest honour for any amateur female golfer and I am sure Carly will feature in the team many more times to come.
Well done Carly.
