MEMBERS DAY CRIEFF

Well done to the 30 hardy souls who braved the weather at Crieff today for our Members Day.

We enjoyed some social time in the clubhouse before a lovely soup & sandwich lunch then we ventured onto the Dornock for a 9 hole 'dropout' texas scramble.

Although we started and mainly finished in the wind and rain, we did see some sunshine and dry weather.  We also saw some trolleys heading off on their own or falling over!

Congratulations to the winners: Fiona Thomson (Dunning), Elspeth Caldow (Kinross), Caroline Marshall (Milnathort) & Linda Scott (Alyth) 27 bl3

and runners-up: Mary Graham (Kinross), Liz Milligan (Crieff), Sandra Brodie (Alyth) & Helen Ewen (Muckhart) 27.

All in all it was a great day and we welcomed 8 Ladies to their first County event - hopefully we'll see you again soon.

Many thanks to Crieff Golf Club, pro shop staff and the catering staff for making us feel most welcomed.

SQUAD TRAINING- DRUMOIG

Quick greens, slow play and a couple splashes along the way!!🌊

Sunday saw six of our squad players meet up for another training day at Drumoig GC. It was kicked off with a yummy lunch and ended with a pretty sunset and some achy legs!🌞

A better-ball team challenge was set for our six players and by the end of the round, all three scores of the team were counting. There was a mixed performance from one team while Isla, Kirsty and Laura W showed grit and determination to earn their Easter egg trophies!!🏆 Hopefully the good vibes keep rolling for the ladies going forward...

Big thanks to Drumoig for hosting, roll on 2026!💪

LADIES SQUAD PRACTICE DAY

The 2026 County ladies squad had their first winter practice yesterday (Sunday). They made the trip to St Andrews to enjoy some winter golf and team bonding. They were lucky with the weather as the sun was shining and blue sky was out all day. A little windy but that didn’t put them off! A good day was had by all with a little friendly competition to dust off the winter cobwebs.

GIRLS COACHING 14th & 15th Feb 2026

Winter is the perfect time to work on your golf game before the season starts and it was a busy weekend again for the girls of P&KLCGA.

Yesterday at Alyth, 7 girls enjoyed the sunshine with a coaching session run by Mike Rae, Alyth Professional, who put the girls and the County lady helpers and parents through their paces before going out on the Wee Course for some fun games.

Today at Gleneagles, where the weather returned to business as usual (snow and fog), 5 girls enjoyed 1.5hrs of coaching at the Golf Academy with Andrew from the Professional Team working on their swing and distance control on the Top Tracer.

Well done to all the girls and thank you to all the Lady Committee Members who helped at the weekend.

Next sessions are:

14 March – Alyth

22 March - Gleneagles

GLENEAGLES FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS 2026

Two of our Junior Girls have been awarded Gleneagles Scholarships for this year.

In the Perth and Kinross County Golf Union League the top three in both scratch and handicap sections gained automatic places in the Foundation while Gleneagles allocated two additional picks of their own.

Lucy Robertson (Crieff) played some excellent, consistent golf throughout the season and qualified by coming 2nd in the Handicap League.

Lucy Moran (Dunbracken Ladies) played in only 5 of the League events due to other golf commitments but racked up 4 wins including the Scratch Matchplay Junior Championships.  Although she came 4th in the Scratch League, she was invited by Gleneagles to join their Foundation.

The girls had their first session at the Gleneagles Golf Academy last weekend with the sessions running throughout the winter.

Well done girls and hopefully this will further help your skills and progression during the year.

JUNIOR GIRLS GLENEAGLES TRAINING

Six of our promising junior girl members attended coaching at the Gleneagles Academy today. The session held in the top tracer bays at the range was led by Josh Dunbar from the Gleneagles Professionals team. Josh helped the girls identify the areas of their golf game they should work on before the session.

Unfortunately, as a result of the weather conditions (fog and saturated ground), the girls were unable to spend the second half of the lesson on the Wee Course but instead continued for the full 1.5 hrs at the driving range. It was noted the fog was so thick only the first range marker was visible so they may have been driving the ball 450 yards but it was impossible to tell!

Thank you to the County Committee ladies who came along on the day to support the girls and to Gleneagles for a great session.

Next session for Group 1(HC) at Gleneagles is on Sunday 15th February 2026 10.30-12.00

Next session for Group 2 (no or high HC) at Alyth is on Sunday 25th January 2026 at 10.00-11.00
