Pitlochry Results

Unfortunately there was a mistake with the SSS for the 2nd round of the Nell Scott Quaich on Thursday which resulted in the wrong CSS being recorded.

The CSS should be 72

The results as previously published stand but this will affect the handicap reduction for the first four  handicap scores and may also mean some ladies will not now have scored within their buffer zone.

The results for the CDH have been amended please be aware that there may be a duplicate entry at your home club.

We do apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

CALLING ALL SINGLE-FIGURE HANDICAPPERS

The "Perthshire Swing" of the Paul Lawrie Ladies Tour is at Blairgowrie Rosemount on July 11 and Alyth on July 12 - 18 holes each day although they are separate competitions with separate prize lists.

So far there is only one P&K amateur entered. This is a great way for low handicappers to play along side professionals. Tournament Director Nicola Melville - and Colin Farquharson are "desperate" for entries from more single-figure girl/lady/senior amateurs.

All the details are on www.scottishladiestour.co.uk and entries can me made on line.

A NOTE FROM OUR CAPTAIN

Jamboree at Tain

Although the results over the three days were not as we would have wished, our team gave their all. Many of the games were very close and could have gone either way. The greens were very tricky and putting extremely difficult and in many cases that is where a hole was won or lost. We had the best of weather with Sunday and Monday played in glorious sunshine. The star performer for Perth and Kinross was a new member in our team. Jennifer Saxton had 4 wins out of  5 games that she played.

Well done Jennifer and I predict she will be in the team for many years to come. Our other new addition, Hannah Robb also played very well scoring 1 1/2 points from a possible 2. These young girls were up against some very experienced players and claimed  a few notable scalps. Every one of our team was a credit to the County and all matches were played in a friendly and happy spirit.

Our sincere thanks to Lenore Kyle,Carol Lambie, Rhona McGeoghegan and Fiona Ramsay who came and worked so hard to caddy for the girls. Thanks also to our President, Ella Benzies who came to lend her support.

Our accommodation at Marybank Lodge was 5 star and enjoyed by all.  Catering for our evening meals was provided by Emily Ogilvy and can only be described as also being 5 star. We enjoyed superb meals with a wonderful selection of dishes. If you are having a celebration and require catering, we can thoroughly recommend Emily to supply everything you need.

Thanks also to all our County members who have bought raffle tickets and bag packed to raise funds to cover the costs.

Next year, Perth and Kinross will be responsible for running the North Division Jamboree which will be held at Pitlochry from 21st-23rd June.

My personal thanks to Carol Muir and Alison Stockley to the team and caddys for the tremendous support they have given me over the last three days. It is indeed a privilege to be Captain of the County with such a wonderful backup. My thanks too for the beautiful flowers and Tain Pottery vase presented to me from all of the girls. That was a lovely surprise and will be treasured for years to come.

Pat Colquhoun

Captain

HOLE IN ONE FOR EMILY

Congratulations to team member Emily Ogilvy who had a hole in one at the 13th hole during the Strathmore Ladies Betterball Open. Not happy with just one eagle on her card she then proceeded to eagle the next hole the 14th par 5!

Her hole in one won her the nearest the pin and her massive drive down 7 enabled her to pick up the longest drive prize also. We finished the tournament 3rd overall.

This is Emily's 2nd hole in one, the first was also at Strathmore at the short 6th....coincidentally I was also her playing partner that day! Its either me or the course that's her lucky charm!

Well done Emily!
