Aberdeenshires' Robyn Fowlie (Murcar) is the leading qualifier for the NORTH OF SCOTLAND Ladies' Championship at Arbroath.  Well done to P&K Team Member, Katy Alexander who finished with a gross 74.

Congratulations to P&K Junior, Zoe Davidson (Alyth) who won the Scratch Plate in the Girls Championship with a gross 82.

Many congratulations to P&K County Team member, Laura Campbell (Pitlochry), who is the Highland Champion 2023 winning the Atholl Cup.  She overcame Isla Moncrieff (Aberfeldy), fellow County Team-mate, in the final.

Congratulations also to County Member, Caroline Henderson (Aberfeldy), who won The Veterans Salver for the best 2 gross scores in the Qualifying Rounds.

Barrie Douglas Junior Masters

Congratulations to Lucy Moran and Zoe Davidson who played in the Barrie Douglas Junior Masters at Strathmore GC over the weekend.

Lucy finished 3rd in the girls handicap section and Zoe was best P&K girls scratch player.

JAMBOREE - PERTH & KINROSS FINISH SECOND

Congratulations to Northern Counties who are this year's Northern Division Champions, with Perth and Kinross finishing in second place.

It was blistering hot conditions for all the players today and the destination of the trophy came down to the smallest of margins.

Northern Counties triumphed after winning all 3 of their matches at Muckhart.  They beat Angus 7 -2, Aberdeenshire 5.5 - 3.5 and Perth & Kinross 5 - 4.  They will represent North Division at the Scottish County Finals at Hilton Park, Milngavie from 1 - 3 September 2023.

Perth & Kinross finished second after 2 wins.  They beat Aberdeenshire 7 - 2, Angus 8 - 1 and lost to Northern Counties 4 - 5.

Aberdeenshire finished third with one win, beating Angus 5-4.

Day 3 results:

Perth & Kinross lost 4 - 5 against Northern Counties.

In the other match, Aberdeenshire won 5 - 4 against Angus.

Lunch and evening meals will be available at the club if you wish to make a day of it.

17 pairs took part in our P&K Ladies' County Commonwealth Spoons Foursomes at Milnathort Golf Club yesterday. It was a beautiful day and the course was in lovely condition.

The winners were the Dunning duo, Jean McEwan & Margaret Cairns, with a marvellous nett 66 closely followed by Lenore Kyle & Carol Lambie with a 68.

PERTH & KINROSS LADIES' COUNTY TEAM ANNOUNCED

The Team selected to represent P&KLCGA at the North Division Jamboree, which we are hosting at Muckhart Golf Club from Saturday 10 to Monday 12 June 2023, is:

The 2023 Perth & Kinross Ladies' County Team will be aiming to make home advantage count as they compete for the North Division championship title after finishing as runners up at Kings Golf Club, Inverness in 2022. They will be up against fierce competition from the other three North Division teams. They are defending champions Aberdeenshire, along with Angus and Northern Counties.

The winning team will go on to represent the North Division in the Scottish County Finals at Hilton Park, Milngavie from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 September 2023.

Huge congratulations to all the players selected. Good Luck everyone!

JEN SAXTON FINISHES 2ND IN WELSH WOMEN'S OPEN

Huge congratulations to Jen Saxton who finished 2nd in the Welsh Women's Open at Prestatyn at the weekend.  After 3 under par rounds, including a fabulous -7 round on Sat to lead on Day 2, Jen finished the tournament in 2nd place on -12.  Fantastic performance !

Commiserations to fellow County Squad member, Katy Alexander, who had a disappointing few days in Wales.
     

CHAMPIONSHIP PHOTOS

EILIDH WATSON WINS THE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP!

Eilidh Watson won the P&K Ladies' County Championship at Auchterarder today. She triumphed over Kirsty Brodie  on 19^th hole in the final to take the title.

Eilidh  reached the final after she beat Hannah Hislop  in the quarter-finals by 8&7 and defeated fellow P&K teammate Laura Walker  by 1 Up in the semi-finals.

In the final, Eilidh went three up early on, but Kirsty rallied to be only 1 down at the turn. After a closely fought start to back 9, the match was all square when Kirsty holed a great putt on 16th. The 17th was halved with birdie 4's. The 18th was halved again to take the match down the 19th. Eilidh had an amazing drive on 19th, chipped to within 5 feet of the pin and holed out for a birdie to clinch the championship.

In the Handicap Championship,  Laurie Brown  won the final after a tough nip & tuck battle against Carol Lambie . There was never more than 1 hole in it all the way round. After being all square playing the 18th, Laurie held her nerve with the last putt to win the match by 1 up.

Each final was played in great spirit and friendly atmosphere.

A huge thank you to Auchterarder Golf Club for hosting the Championships this year.

Blairgowrie Coaching Day

 We had a fantastic day for the coaching day held at Blairgowrie with Karyn Dallas. It was lovely to see so many ladies and juniors taking part and having fun in the morning whilst doing skills stations.

In the afternoon we went out on the wee course where we played a fun competition in mixed teams and there was lots of different challenges on the holes.

Well done to all the prize winners on the day.

NEW P&K LADIES' COUNTY CAPTAIN & PRESIDENT

We are delighted to announce that we have a new Captain and President for Perth & Kinross Ladies' County.

Fiona Farquharson has agreed to be our new Captain and Lenore Kyle has agreed to become our new President.

Both ladies are well known in the County and come with a wealth of golfing knowledge and experience. They will be a welcome asset to our Committee and the ongoing future of P&KLCGA.
