LIZ MISKIMMIN
Liz was a great ambassador for County Golf with boundless energy and enthusiasm she was indeed a joy to know. Liz worked tirelessly for P&K and indeed Scottish golf and for many, me included, golf would not have been so special if it hadn't been for Liz. She was always ready with a quiet word and wink of encouragement and always knew just the right things to say. She had a superb sense of humour and was at ease with both young and old. Liz will always have a place in the heart of P&K, we are all blessed to have known her.
Liz worked so hard for so many and she fought her last battle with quiet dignity, courage and humour but she lost the fight on Saturday night.
Below is a list of just a few of Liz's golfing achievements with P&K. I will gather more information and post a fuller piece for Liz following her funeral which is to be held at Perth Crematorium on Friday 18th Feb at 2pm.
Liz joined P&K in 1986 she was previously a member of Stirling & Clackmannan. She played for the county team for several years between 1988 and 1999. She was Champion of Champions in 1996 and was capped for Scottish Vets in 1998. She was Captain in 2000 and 2001. Became President in October 2004 and was President for 5 years until 2009. She was made an honorary member in 2009 after retiring as President.

In particular could you please ensure your club's under 16 junior members are aware of the Under 16 Open Stroke Play Championship as the closing date for this event is only a few weeks away on Monday 14th March. This event is once again being held in Perthshire at Strathmore Golf Centre from 14 – 15 April. Although there has been a full field for this event over the last couple of years, many of the entrants come up to play from South of the Border. It would be great to see more Scottish Girls (in particular P&K girls) playing in the competition this year.
