Roseanne puts up a great show at the Girls Championship
Roseanne Niven played great golf today but narrowly missed out on progressing further when she was beaten by Scottish Team mate Kyrstal Caithness by one hole. Roseanne was 3 down at one point but won both the 15th and 16th (with a birdie) and Krystal had to get up and down at the 17th to halve the hole.
As always Roseanne played well and did P&K proud. Well done.

CARLY OUT OF THE BP SCOTTISH GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP
Disappointment for Carly Booth as she has been knocked out of the BP Scottish Girls Championship by title holder Kelly Brotherton. Carly met Kelly last year and the match went to the 25th hole however this year Kelly won 2 & 1. Kelly now goes on to meet Michelle Thomson in the quarters. However our hopes are not dashed as Roseanne our current P&K County Champion has won through to the quarter finals after a tough fight against Amanda Edwards and winning her match on the last green.
Roseanne now goes head to head with her Scottish Team mate Krystal Caithness. Krystal is the current holder of the Scottish under 16 which Roseanne has also held. This should prove to be a great match with two very talented young golfers. We all wish Roseanne the very best of luck and I will try to keep you posted of the outcome.
QUARTER-FINALS LINE-UP THURSDAY MORNING
Kelly Brotherton v Michele Thomson
Kylie Walker v Sally Watson
Rachael Livingstone v Sarah Herd
Krystle Caithness v Roseanne Niven.

Perth & Kinross players do well at North of Scotland
The qualifying round played at Strathmore Golf Centre on July 5th saw 5 county members qualify for the Scratch Match play stages of the North of Scotland Ladies Golf Championship and 8 members entering the Handicap stages. A grand total of 13 P&K ladies out of the 32 qualifiers is a fantastic feat. Well done to all.
The top P&K Scratch qualifier was our own Vice Captain Janet Griffiths (Comrie) who shot a 75 with a handicap of 8 she scored a fantastic nett 67!!! 5 under the 72 par. Janet qualified 3rd just narrowly missing out on 2nd spot on a better inward half from Ann Hay from Letham Grange. Well done Janet a fantastic score. Jillian Milne (Craigiehill) and Dawn Butchart (Strathmore) both scored 76, Sally Kettlewell (Dunblane) and Jane Yellowlees (Murrayshall) also reached the qualifying stages with 80. A great show from P&K! The top qualifier was Laura Walker (Nairn and Dunbar) equaling the par of 72.
Two P&K players landed the top two seeds in the Handicap qualifier. Young Jacqueline Sneddon (Alyth) with a handicap of 14 shot 2 under par 70 better inward half from Cath Irving (Blairgowrie) handicap 11. Well done to both ladies on such a wet and windy day. Jennie French (Strathmore) Jane Taylor (Strathmore) and Jill Stewart (Alyth) all scored 71. Jan Kennedy (Blairgowrie) 72, Margaret MacNaughton 73 and Norma Fleming 74.
Yesterday saw County Committee members doubling up as greenkeepers trying to keep the greens playable on what was a very wet day. Thankfully the weather did hold long enough to enable play to continue and the days play come to a conclusion.
We will keep you posted as to the results for today.
