Our team of girls performed well over the weekend and just missed out on second place when Aberdeenshire won the Saturday match by the narrowest of margins 5-4. Northern Counties won on Sunday against P&K 7-2 and yesterday our team played great golf and won all morning foursome matches then went onto win 3 afternoon matches to win overall against Angus 6-3.
Our star of the Tournament was Roseanne Niven who played magnificent golf. Playing with Jane Yellowlees in the doubles on Saturday morning against S Wood and S Wilson they won by 1 hole then in the afternoon she won again against S Wilson 4&3. On Sunday again teamed with Jane for the foursomes the pairing went on to win 2&1 against Lesley Mackay and Audrey Scott. In the afternoon she put up a great show against Scottish internationalist Lesley Mackay and lost 2&1. Lesley is turning pro today. On Monday Roseanne rested in the morning and came out all guns blazing against another Scottish internationlist Dawn Dewar and won 2&1. A fantastic weekend for Roseanne winning 4 out or 5 of her matches and supporting all the other players throughout the weekend.
Unfortunately Carly Booth suffered a back injury and only played on Saturday morning in the foursomes and had to concede the Sunday morning foursome match and retire from the competition. We all hope her injury is not to serious and wish her a speedy recovery.
All other players contributed to the weekend and the points scored are as follows:
