EMILY PRICE WINS THE ENGLISH WOMEN'S AMATEUR

Emily Price is celebrating the biggest win of her career after she was crowned the English Women’s Amateur Champion on Saturday.


Emily Price came from two down to defeat the English women’s international Lily May Humphreys by 3&4 in a thrilling 36-hole final for English Women’s Amateur Championship.

The championship was played at Woodhall Spa Golf Club in Lincolnshire. At the start of the week sixty-six of the top women amateurs in the country teed it up for two rounds of stroke play before the top sixteen made it through to the knockout stages.

Price, who is a former English Girls international, won the English Women’s Stroke play in 2016, when she was only 16. She also won the Scottish Girls Open Championship in the same year. Since then, she has spent the last two years at the University of South Carolina before transferring to Ohio’s Kent State for her final two years. Her aim is to turn professional after completing her studies.
