FIRST ROUND OF WOMEN'S AMATEUR IS ABANDONED

The first round of stroke play qualifying at both The Women’s Amateur and The Amateur championships has been abandoned due to bad weather.

The start of the championships was delayed by two hours this morning due to heavy rain and high winds. Following a second suspension this afternoon the decision was made to cancel the first round and all scores from today.

The cut will now be made after one round of stroke play qualifying tomorrow. The top 64 players will then progress to the match play stage of The Women’s Amateur championship, while the top 64 players and ties will go through to the match play stage of The Amateur championship.
